Currently looking for Systems Engineer to work within Asset Management Release & Operations Team based in Aberdeen.
Main duties and responsibilities are managing fault*request calls, enhancement*development work and release of periodic application builds. Duties include:· To provide direct and indirect support to the preparation of bids and proposals, as required.· Maintain effective understanding of customer?s business, business requirements, IT needs and how IT will support and enhance their business.· Take part in team mentoring, peer reviews and knowledge sharing to improve team environment & knowledge base · To understand operational commitments of team (projects, build release and service delivery) · Maintain and develop good relationships with customers - both internal and external : to ensure that they are satisfied with service provided by Team. · Take responsibility to plan, organise and schedule workload within Team. · To take responsibility for implementation of process improvements within Team.· Maintain good liaison with other parts of organisation.Candidates must possess flexibility and willingness to work onsite or at customer sites throughout UK.

Technical * Business Skills:
Essential:?Familiarity with complex applications distributed over NT, UNIX & Web environments?Experience with Maximo application v4.1 to v5.1?Experience with reporting tool (e.g. Business Objects, Crystal Reports) PL*SQL Desirable - Actuate; Business Objects; VB, Oracle databases, SQL, Java, MX Server
Interpersonal Skills:
Essential:?Flexible approach and a commitment to deliver?Strong customer facing skills.?The ability to liase and communicate effectively in high-pressure situations. ?Good written and oral communication skills.?Confident to present solutions to customers in a formal & informal manner.?Good team player with strong problem-solving skillsAn organised person with an emphasis on proactive management of issues
Business & Industry Experience:
Essential - Experience of working in application support roleDesirable - Oil & Gas * Utilities industry experience
Educational Attainments:
Essential - Educated to degree level, HND or alternatively a recognised professional qualificationDesirable - Experience and enthusiasm for support work is of greater importance than hard qualifications.
